“In May of 2018, I went to my first Power Up class at Coach Will’s gym, WillPower Training. I’d been a runner for years and thought I was in okay shape, but this was something completely new for me. I stuck with it for eight months, lost ten pounds and started to see some changes in my body shape, and then I got stuck. Will told me I needed to clean up my diet, but I stubbornly assured him that I knew everything I needed to know about dieting. I just wasn’t doing it.
“In January 2019 I finally decided to see if Will could help me. I planned to just do the challenge for 30 days because I really thought I only wanted to lose ten, maybe fifteen pounds, but at 30 days, I was down 18 pounds and feeling better than I had in years. I decided to keep going and by the beginning of March, I was down 25 pounds! I couldn’t quite do the full 90 day challenge because I had a spring break trip planned, but on day 82, I was down 31 pounds –from a size 10 to a size 2.
“Five months later (two months post challenge!) I’ve maintained the weight loss because I’ve learned how to better monitor my diet and I’m running faster than I ever thought I was capable of running.
“I’m not following “the plan” strictly, but I’ve learned how to adjust and maintain — even when I hit some pretty stressful patches and I just wanted to sit on my couch and eat ice cream!
